Evaporating Concentrator Case Study

CASE
TMAH Recovery Case Study

Issue
We want to recover TMAH solution from wastewater containing TMAH.

TMAH is an essential chemical in the liquid crystal and semiconductor industries. The high usage per plant imposes a large load on wastewater treatment facilities. With Sasakura’s concentrator, it is possible to recover highly concentrated TMAH solution from dilute TMAH wastewater.
In addition, wastewater containing TMAH often contains surfactants, which have foaming properties and usually require the use of defoaming agents, but Sasakura’s concentrator for TMAH recovery can concentrate wastewater without the need for defoaming agent injection by applying our unique foaming countermeasures. This is an advantage in purification of TMAH because it eliminates contamination with defoaming agents. Condensate can be reused.

Solved with Model VVCC!

〈When using Model VVCC〉

Benefits of Introduction
  • Recovery with low running cost
  • Recovery without use of defoaming agent
  • From concentrate to valuable element
  • Condensate can also be reused and recovered from wastewater without waste
  • We have numerous examples of recovery results using Sasakura’s concentrator
Point
  • TMAH is resistant to biodegradation and presents difficulties in ordinary water treatment. Even if recovery is not performed, use of a concentrator makes it possible to reduce the load on the total wastewater treatment.
  • A variety of concentrators are available, ranging from compact equipment that processes 1 m3 per day to large capacity types that process 300 m3 per day, and they are also best suited for the purpose of reducing industrial waste disposal costs rather than recovery.
