CASE
Oil-based Wastewater Treatment Case Study

Issue
We want to reduce the load of water-soluble cutting oil wastewater on the water treatment process.

Water-soluble cutting oil is an essential oils in the mechanical industry, including the automotive industry. The general wastewater treatment method is coagulation, pressure flotation, and biological treatment. The issue was the large amount of chemicals used and sludge generated. These issues can be solved by using Sasakura’s equipment.
In addition, when using chlorine-free water-soluble cutting oils, it is possible to ask the refiner to accept the concentrate as waste oil.

Benefits of Introduction
  • Reduces sludge
  • Reduces chemical usage
  • Reduces load on coagulation and pressure flotation process
  • Trade of concentrate as combustion improver
  • We have numerous examples of recovery results using Sasakura’s concentrator
Point
  • Another notable example in the automotive industry is the treatment of wastewater containing aluminum die-casting mold release agent. Since it does not have as much calorific value as water-soluble cutting oil wastewater, it is difficult to recover it as a combustion improver, but the treatment helps to reduce the load on coagulation and pressure flotation and reduce the amount of sludge generated.
  • Sasakura has a wide range experience with equipment to handle volumes from 5 to 360 m3 per day, and can provide designs to meet the needs of any user.
